When the Going Gets Tough

Richard once said to me, “I think you should look through the door before you close it.” That simple statement carried me through many tough decisions and encouraged me when I was temped to quit in the early days of my real estate career. There were long hours, too much time away from the family, highs and lows, but in the end, I stuck to my dreams and refused to give up.

Having a big dream goes hand in hand with having the courage and strength to see it through. Being committed to your goals means taking stock of where you are, where you want to be, and then connecting the dots and plotting the course to get you from point A to point B. It means making plans, setting priorities and embracing a fierce discipline. It means giving up distractions and focusing on the bigger picture. And it means taking a good solid look at the road ahead and deciding that you are in it for the long haul!!

There will be tough days, there will be failures and setbacks. There will be triumphs and successes along the way and dips and curves in the road. It comes down to this: when you are pursuing a dream, NEVER quit!

I encourage you to write down your dreams. Get them on paper and begin to plan. Keep a “dream journal” and keep track of your progress. Return to the early pages often, to keep you on track!! Find the determination you were born with. Let it grow and allow it to give you confidence!! You will, in the end, succeed!
