According to best-selling author and dynamic minister, Max Lucado – “We forget that ‘impossible’ is one of God’s favorite words.” How often have you found yourself in a situation that you feel is just too hard for you, will take too much time, you’re not positive the outcome will be great, and what will others think if you fail?

First of all, never fear that others are going to ridicule you if you fail. We only learn to do the “impossible” by trying, and trying again. Our mistakes are our teachers. You will never create that great positive outcome until you try!

Henry Ford, often maligned by his peers for trying to create an automobile the likes of which had never been seen – offered this advice: “If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you’re right.” In other words, what you can or cannot do is not decided by possessing the most outstanding physical skills or prowess, not by how many times your name appeared on the Honor Society rolls, and not by what others think is possible. Your potential for accomplishment begins in your brain. No matter how impossible sounding your goal may be, your positive belief in your own ability to succeed is your greatest asset.

As the creative, magical Walt Disney said, “Sometimes it’s fun to do the impossible.” Where would we be today if Mr. Disney had thought “this idea is preposterous! No one will ever buy into this?” Remember those wonderful childhood movies – Cinderella, Snow White, and Alladin? Those are memorable “impossible” experiences that every child loved! Thank you, Walt, for not giving up on your dream – for not saying “these things would be impossible to do!”

Charles Swindoll once offered this encouragement: “We are faced with a series of opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” Thinking hard about something that is difficult to achieve – something which has been an impossibility for you so far – does not produce a positive outcome. Trying looking forward, to see that your idea of achieving something that appears impossible is going to be HARD but, worth it. If it were easy, everyone would be a super achiever! When things get difficult, don’t start doubting yourself, complaining, moaning, and whining – this is your dream idea! Embrace it – push with all you’ve got, and don’t even THINK about quitting!

“Beware of those who stand aloof, and greet each venture with reproof. The world would stop if things were run by those who say “It can’t be done.”
